About this tour
From Cairo airport, you’ll kickstart the tour at the Giza Necropolis. Home to the top trio of pyramids, this unforgettable site brings Egypt out of your textbooks and onto your camera rolls.
Stand up close to the Great Pyramid, the largest of the three, and soak up the views against a desert backdrop. You can choose to step inside its mysterious tunnels and chambers. Listen to your guide talk about the pharaoh as you marvel at the famous statue, the Great Sphinx – ‘with the body of a lion and face of a pharaoh, it’s a symbol of great strength and wisdom,’ adds local guide Esi.
You’re in for a treat with the next stop at the Cairo Museum. With over 100 exhibition galleries inside, it’s home to the world’s biggest collection of Egyptian artefacts. Wander past statues, artefacts, and relics that’ll give you the inside scoop into the daily life and religious practices of past civilizations from thousands of years ago.
The museum is also home to the wow-factor masterpiece – the golden mask of Tutankhamun. It’s a showstopping way to end the day.
What to remember
Extra fees to be paid on-site:
- Please note that you’ll gain access to the pyramids area but the entrance fees to get inside the pyramids (Cheops, Mykerinos or Kefren) are not included. The tickets available are limited and must be purchased on site so access is not guaranteed. The adult entrance fee is EGP 400 (around €23) and EGP 200 (around €11.50) for children
- At the museum, personal cameras without flash are allowed for an additional fee which is currently EGP 50 (around €3). Please note that this is subject to change without prior notice
- Infants below 2 years can join for free apart from a departure tax of €29 which you can pay on the day of your tour, please select your free infants tickets at checkout
Know in advance:
- The local operator will contact you 48-hour prior to your tour to ask you for a copy of your ID in order to book your flights. They will share your flight details and final pick up information with you before the tour
- Hotel pick up service is included. Please provide your hotel information, your email and phone number at the time of booking
- Tour duration and pickup time are simply guidelines subject to change due to operational conditions and your hotel location
